ABOUT THE CENTRE
The Centre for Postgraduate Studies & Research Ltd is a training centre
which runs a range of modular Certificate, Advanced Certificate and
Diploma programmes in association with the Centre for Stress Management.
Its new certificated programme includes clinical and applied hypnosis
and cognitive hypnotherapy.
This training is suitable for
psychologists, medics and other qualified health and caring professionals wishing to gain more knowledge and skills practice in
hypnosis.

Hypnosis training at the Centre is placed within a cognitive
behavioural, rational emotive and multimodal framework. Hypnosis can be considered as an adjunct to
therapy. The Centre underpins its programmes with the integrative
work of Dr E. Thomas Down who developed Cognitive Hypnotherapy. The Centre Postgraduate Studies
& Research Ltd provides a range of services including
hypnosis, counselling, stress and coaching for individuals and organisations.
The Certificate in Cognitive Hypnotherapy / Certificate in
Cognitive Behaviour Therapies & Hypnosis offered by the Centre
for Postgraduate Studies & Research Ltd has been Assessed and
Validated at Foundation Level by The General Hypnotherapy
Standards Council (UK) and graduates are eligible to apply for
Affiliate status within The General Hypnotherapy
Register (the GHSC's Registering Agency).
The United Fellowship of Hypnotherapists Association also
offer all succesful students of The Centre for Postgraduate Studies
& Research Ltd, Associated or Professional Membership.
In addition, The Centre for Postgraduate Studies & Research Ltd
is also affiliated with the National Register of Advanced
Hypnotherapists (NRAH). As a successful graduate you may also be
eligible to apply for membership with the NRAH.
The site provides information about our services, courses, books, definitions of
hypnosis, stress management strategies, imagery and relaxation exercises. We have included articles on a range of issues such as
hypnosis; rational principles; stress counselling, stress management, health, and coronary heart disease. Individuals who are about to enter psychotherapy or counselling at any institute are recommended to read the free Client Checklist before their first consultation. Click

The Centre runs a free online relaxation and hypnosis forum for both the
public and practitioners. Just click the eGroup icon
in the Forum section. The Training Director of the Centre is Professor Stephen Palmer
PhD NBCCH. Training staff include Thelma Dabor, Nick Edgerton, Kasia Szymanska
and Kate Thomas.
